Published by Politeknik Perkeretaapian Indonesia Madiun, Indonesia, was published in March and November. Furthermore, this publication aims to encourage the interaction and collaboration between universities, research centres, railway operators, and industry in order to identify problems, propose solutions, and indicate directions for future research. Fokus dan Ruang Lingkup

Journal of Railway Transportation and Technology (JRTT) is an international peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research, applied engineering studies, and critical reviews related to railway transportation and transportation technology in general. The journal is interdisciplinary in nature, welcoming contributions from engineering, planning, economics, and policy perspectives, provided the subject matter relates to rail-based or broader transportation systems. JRTT covers, but is not limited to, the following two groups of fields: Railway Transportation • Rolling Stock: locomotive and train car design, bogies, materials, structural integrity, vibration and noise, wheel-rail interaction, vehicle dynamics, maintenance and reliability • Railway Infrastructure: track structure, sleepers and ballast, tunnels, bridges, stations, level crossings, geotechnical aspects of railway construction • Signalling and Telecommunication: interlocking systems, automatic train protection/operation (ATP/ATO), communication-based train control (CBTC), railway telecommunication networks • Energy and Environment: traction power systems, electrification, energy efficiency, emissions and noise/vibration impact, renewable energy applications for rail • Railway Operations and Management: scheduling and timetabling, capacity planning, operations control, asset management, maintenance strategy • Railway Safety and Security: crashworthiness, derailment analysis, level-crossing safety, risk assessment, cybersecurity for railway systems • Urban and High-Speed Rail Systems: light rail transit (LRT), mass rapid transit (MRT), metro systems, high-speed rail specific engineering and operational issues Transportation Technology • Transportation Network Planning and Modelling: demand forecasting, network design, traffic and transport simulation • Land Use Transportation Interaction: transit-oriented development (TOD), integration of urban planning and transport systems • Transportation Economic Evaluation and Policy: cost-benefit analysis, tariff and fare policy, investment appraisal • Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS): AI, IoT, and big-data applications in transportation, smart mobility, automation • Sustainable Transportation: low-carbon transport, multimodal integration, electrification of transport modes • Transportation Safety and Human Factors: driver and operator behaviour, ergonomics, accident analysis across transport modes • Logistics and Freight Transportation: rail freight, intermodal logistics, transport supply chains Manuscripts outside this scope will normally be rejected at the initial screening stage (desk reject), regardless of their scientific quality. Common article types • Original Research: original data and findings from testing, experiments, modelling, or field surveys • Applied Engineering / Planning and Design: track planning and reactivation, system design, optimisation using engineering software • Literature Review: critical and systematic synthesis of literature on a specific topic • Case Study: analysis of real operational or technical cases • Transportation Management: policy studies, operational management, efficiency, and transportation system governance
